Saigon Village Restaurant

Today, I went to visit Saigon Village Restaurant located at Jalan Barat, off Jalan Imbi for Vietnamese Cuisine with Mei Sze,Sally, Kheng Hooi and Teck Wei. Teck Wei did not follow as he ffk-ed us at last minute.

We ordered : 1.) Mixed Grill Platter
             2.) Vietnamese 猪肠粉
             3.) Vietnamese Fried Keuy Theow
             4.) Mango Salad
             5.) Grilled Pork with Crackers

 Mixed Grill Platter (Price: RM28.80)

-Basically, it's Vietnamese Popiah...It's served with a plate of "plastic" or rice paper, spring roll, grilled pork, grilled beef, Vietnamese beehoon, raw vegetables, sprouts and cane prawn.

How to eat?

1.)Firstly, dip rice paper into warm water (1 second) to soften it, or else the rice paper is just like plastic
2.)Put the rice paper on plate
3.)Put some beehoon and raw vegetable on it
4.)Put some meat
5.)Apply source ( fish sauce and sweet sauce , 1 spoon each)
6.)Put sprout
7.)Wrap it and roll it up
8.)Put it into your mouth

**We do not need to wrap spring roll and cane prawn, we can have it directly.

-A very dish, the taste is perfect with meat, vegetable and sauce wrapped in a roll.<3

Grilled Pork with Crackers (Price : RM 5.50)

- Grilled pork on top of cracker
-Not bad, crispy cracker with well grilled pork

 Vietnamese 猪肠粉

- 猪肠粉 with sauce, sprout and prawn wrapped in it
- Similar to the usual Chinese 猪肠粉

Mango Salad (Price: RM9.80)

- Mango Salad with some shrimps on it
- Personally think that this dish is expensive as only few shrimps are given.

Vietnamese Fried Keuy Theow (Price: RM10.90)

- could choose to cook with seafood or beef (we chose seafood)
- I love this very much as every single keuy theow is 撑着蛋 <3

The service here is good, we enjoyed the dinner very much. The waiter asked us to wash hands before dining (as we need to use hand to roll popiah). He also taught us how to wrap and roll a popiah. The most important thing is, he said I am a nice guy as I know where to hunt for good foods. XD

As a conclusion, this is a must place to introduce to your friends to have Vietnamese Cuisine. Food quality is good, service is good, environment is good (clean + Vietnamese songs) and price is reasonable. The total bill is RM98.23, it's about RM25 per person.

We headed to Times Square after that to do some shopping. Mei Sze spent RM135 for her clothes and she was happy for that.I also got my backpack with reasonable price. Thanks Kheng Hooi for choosing a nice bag for me.

***Not much photos taken as I needed to use hands to roll popiah, I don't want to touch my camera with my oily hands. XD sorry about that.
